What Time is the Race?
The proverbial gun will go off promptly at 9 am. Let Me Run Boys and Coaches should arrive no later than 8 am.
When Will Festivities Be Over?
We encourage everyone to stick around until the last runner has crossed the finish line. The post-race ceremony will start around 10:20 am and we are typically done by 10:45 am. That said, if you have to leave when your crew is finished running, you may.
Where do I Park? *Important*
There will be two parking lots, and we have assigned certain schools to each lot. If you're with a school that starts with A-M, park in Lot A. Those associated with schools starting with N-Z, park in Lot B. Community runners can park in either lot. There is more information on the Parking Page of this website.
Where Do I Pick Up My Race Packet?
There is no pre-race packet pickup. Boys & Coaches: report directly to the Team Meetup Area at the race. Each team will have a bag of race materials waiting for them. All Other Runners (families, community runners, etc.): find the Registration Tent in the Race Village to get your materials. Please give yourself enough time to get your race packet on race morning.
Who Should Run in the Race?
Our race is open to not only Let Me Run boys and coaches, but parents, siblings, school staff, friends and anyone in the community.
Should I Register my Let Me Run Boy?
No. All currently registered boys and coaches are already signed up for the race.
Does My Boy Need an Adult Running Buddy?
No. We encourage family and friends to run the race, but it is not required. It is more fun to participate, though.
What's the Vibe at This Race?
The atmosphere of our races are unique - they're fun, high-energy, positive and inclusive. I challenge you to find another event where hundreds of young men are pushing themselves to achieve their goals, while also truly encouraging other boys to succeed.
There will be a Live DJ, coffee truck, Kona Ice, possibly other food vendors, sign-making stations, tattoo and green hair dye stations, sponsor tents and giveaways.
We use a chip timed start.
Are There Awards?
Yes! However, we reserve all Top Place Finisher Awards for currently enrolled Let Me Run Boys. For more info on the categories, visit the Awards Page.
I'm Nervous About the Location Switch - Why Did Let Me Run Change It?!
This is mostly due to police and city logistics that are rather boring to explain. That said, our region is very large geographically and it's a great opportunity to bring our fantastic race to another part of the area. Our SC friends have been driving into NC for years, after all!
Note that the December race will be at the old location at Whitehall Center. Where will we be in Spring 2026? Stay tuned!
What's The Course Like?
This course is located around a beautiful lake and plenty of green space. There are some hills. Check out the Course Tab. *Note* part of the course is on trails. If we get some wet weather that week, be prepared to get dirty!
Will There Be a Water Stop?
Yes! And lucky you....the location of the water stop is sited where participants can grab hydration twice while on the course.
Are There Restrooms?
There will be portable restrooms available in the Race Village only. There is no bathroom on the course.
What if There is Inclement Weather?
The race will happen rain or shine. However, if conditions become unsafe or untenable (e.g., thunder, lightning, torrential downpour), we may delay and try to wait out the weather. If Mother Nature is not cooperative, we may have to cancel the race. In this situation, due to event permitting, unfortunately we would not be able to reschedule. No refunds will be given.
Will I Be Guaranteed a Race Shirt?
We do our very best to ensure that all runners get a race shirt. However, the order has already been placed and we have run out of shirts in the past. To increase your chances of having a race shirt, register early.
